Big Brother

Our government is out of control.  The George Orwell novel, 1984, introduced us to the character (for lack of a better term) of “Big Brother,” sort of an all-seeing, all-knowing government entity that brainwashed and controlled people “for their own good.”

1984 should be required reading for all school children, and it used to be.  All children should realize the inherent dangers of people having control over others.  Sadly, generations of people have grown up without the true knowledge of what it means to be free.

We are heading down into that Orwellian nightmare with the frighteningly rapid expansion of government power and control.  This nation was founded so that all men could be free, and while we sit and worry about our culture, our freedoms are being stolen one by one.

I pray that we don’t wake up one day living in a time and place depicted in Orwell’s novel, but if we don’t stand up and fight against big government now, we most assuredly will.

I hate that it says, “Don’t click here,” because every time I read that, I HAVE to click on it! It doesn’t matter that I have clicked on it a thousand times already, when I read, “Don’t click here,” I MUST click. Stupid reverse psychology…..
